What is Metal Shield?

The Metal Shield products are designed to protect various metal and metal structures. They are environ-mentally friendly, water-based and registered in both BASTA and byggvarubedömingen, and follow REACH. Metal Shield’s surface protection is crosslinking and has high adhesion, as well as elasticity that allows them to naturally follow the surface even at high-temperature differences. At temperatures from -40°C (-40°F) to +175°C (347°F), no changes are shown on the products.

In addition to its good adhesiveness and elasticity, they also have a sealing and glueing effect, which makes structures steadier and stronger and minimizes leakage. Metal Shield works as corrosion protection, is weather and age resistant and is resistant to a variety of chemicals, including chlorine-containing compounds found in, for example, bathhouses. The products are water repellent, which makes them self-cleaning when it comes into contact with water. The Metal Shield products can be applied in different ways, for example, by dipping the application into the product or by spraying, rolling, raking or brushing on the products. To ensure seal integrity, a UV pigment can be added to detect any leakage.

In the Metal Shield family we currently have four products with different characteristics. In addition to these, we also have dozens of customized solutions for different customers.

Metal Shield Stout

(Durable / Strong / Rugged / Hard)

Our primary product that is a unique coat for metal, delivered in a bucket and usually at smaller volumes.

Metal Shield Superior

(First Class / Excellent / Premium)

If excellent adhesion is required, Metal Shield Superior is the product to use.

Metal Shield Strong

(Proud / Tough)

Wear Strong product usually applied by dipping.

Metal Shield Glow

(Reddish / Lyster)

A product that can be UV illuminated to check sealing and coverage ability.

Metal shield in the lab

We are continually working in our lab to ensure that all Metal Shield products are of the highest standard and comply with applicable laws and regulations. Each manufactured batch is quality assured by several different tests before delivery to the customer. All raw materials have 100% traceability.

We work closely with our raw material suppliers and strive for the continuous development of tomorrow’s surface protection products.

Our finished products are tested by independent test institutes, and many of our products are developed in close collaboration with our customers to customize the product to fit specific needs.

No emissions

To think long-term and be environmentally conscious is one of our driving forces. This philosophy applies to the entire chain, from idea to finished product. To ensure that our products are as environmentally friendly today as well as in ten years, they have undergone testing at the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE). The result shows that there were no hazardous values and we are incredibly proud of that.

Fire test

It is crucial for us to ensure that our products are not dangerous for you as users. We do ongoing tests in our in our lab, but by letting our products go through a well-proven test method by the Swedish Technical Research Institute (SP), we can with certainty say that they are approved according to the classification UL 94 - HB, which stands for a horizontal measurement method.

During the tests, our products are exposed to a flame and the flame time is measured. The measurement and the classification ensure that the Metal Shield products are fire safe.
